Automotive Retail
Pimsler Hoss Architects has completed automotive retail facility projects for the major industry corporations, including but not limited to Chrysler, Ford, General Motors and BMW of North America. These projects vary in scope, from upgrades and remodeling to ensure compliance with corporate identity standards, to the design and construction of new, ground up dealerships. PH/A has a clear understanding of the design requirements that serve a dealer’s market strategy. A well dsigned dealership establishes the groundwork for a comfortable and effective sales environment.

Hank Aaron BMW/ Mini
A new dealership completed in less than a six-month construction period, Hank Aaron BMW is an exemplary model for BMW of North America Corporate Identity Program dealerships. The store features a three-point customer contact area connecting sales, service and parts in one central location. Exterior display canopies feature new and certified pre-owned vehicles, and demonstrator vehicles are protected by lower canopies, allowing the customer to step into a vehicle ready to drive upon approach. The service work bay area is fully tiled, air-conditioned and daylighted to simulate daylight conditions. This showroom was part of a major addition to Hank Aaron BMW constructed just two years after the facility opened. The dealership required additional service bays and parts storage, as well as a showroom for the MINI Cooper line of commuter cars. The 2,500 s.f. addition continued the exterior design cues established by the existing facility, while incorporating the dramatic, color-on-black aesthetic of the MINI design program in the interior.

John Thornton Chevrolet
This project currently in development envolves the reuse/modification and addition to an existing car dealership just west of Atlanta, Ga. PH/A has worked closely with the owner to ensure that the aesthetic, functional and financial needs are met.

Hank Aaron Jaguar/ Land Rover
Hank Aaron Jaguar - Land Rover is a proposed greenfield dealership for the two luxury auto brands. This structure would serve as a new prototype for the two marques, merging Jaguar’s elegant, flowing lines with Land Rover’s rugged, angular but refined styling. This single structure would be placed at the top of its upward-sloping site, overlooking a wilderness track course for Land Rover and fronting a proving ground for Jaguar. Although many administrative and operational functions would be shared, each brand would have its own showroom, sales staff and service departments.

Hank Aaron Toyota
PH/A worked diligently to insure that Hank Aaron Toyota has a distinctive image but also maintains compliance with the Toyota corporate design guidelines.

Sterling BMW / Mini
A new BMW/MINI dealership located west of Washington, D.C. near Dulles Airport, BMW of Sterling features many of the high-quality finishes and customer-focused elements created by the BMW design program. At just over 33,000 sq. ft., this facility features a 24-bay air conditioned service department, display parking covered by a translucent canopy, and a “Zentrum,” a monitor window-topped cylindrical space that combines BMW history with a relaxing waiting area for customers.
