City of Refuge – Atlanta

The City of Refuge offers resources and tools to individuals and families living on the margin. The campus includes two industrial buildings totaling some 200,000 sf.

Phase One of this project focused on Building One, which included the thrift store, exercise areas and the 180 Degree Kitchen. This building was to be developed to provide flexible community based spaces, where a large dining hall could be converted to a worship area or instructional space. The exercise areas could in like measure convert to worship space as well. The large spaces were placed adjacent to bathing areas, providing a well rounded set of amenities for visitors to the facility.
